Influence of social factors on development of educational path of intellectually gifted youth

Abstract

The contribution is made on the basis of results of sociological research “Life strategies and implemented paths of gifted children (social factors of implementation of giftedness)” which was carried out by the Laboratory of monitoring research at the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education in August–November, 2011. The object of the research were the 2000–2003 graduates of Moscow school for gifted children. The research gathered quantitative information on 58 graduates (screening-interview method) as well as qualitative information on 33 graduates of schools for gifted children (biography interview method). The authors studied life paths of intellectually gifted youth and analyzed the influence of social factors on their implementation in the field of vocational education.
