Development of creative imagination in preschool children with visual impairments through the use of non-traditional painting techniques

Abstract

We discuss an approach to the development of creative imagination in preschool children with visual impairments. We present the results of a study aimed at investigating the features of the imagination in 6-7 years old children with visual impairment (20 people with visual impairments attending school preparatory group of kindergarten), and correction and development program, which allows to overcome the backlog in this area. We assumed that creative imagination in this children has the qualitative distinctiveness, which manifests itself in sketchy, stereotyped activities, tendency to copy, difficulty in creating an imaginary situation. The author also based on the fact that specially organized correction and developing work using unconventional painting techniques will help to overcome the existing shortcomings and the development of creative abilities of children. Qualitative analysis revealed a gap in the level of development of creative imagination in preschool children with visual impairments. The main means of correctional and development work is creating pictures using unconventional painting techniques .
