Abstract

Context and relevance. A child's social experience is made up of the skills of communication with the people around them. An important aspect in the formation of communicative behavior is the ability to adequately perceive a communicative situation and to find effective ways of resolving it. In the context of primary school education, issues related to solving socio‑communicative tasks are relevant and are associated both with extracurricular forms of activities and with the analysis and interpretation of the content of the texts of works that students are introduced to in class. In an inclusive environment, it is significant to test corrective technologies aimed at developing the socio‑communicative competencies of children with disabilities, which form the basis for interaction with their typically developing peers. Objective. To assess the possibilities of understanding and interpreting a socio-communicative situation, as well as the characteristics and emotions of the characters, as a starting point for the development of the socio-communicative skills of students with disabilities who are mastering a program in an inclusive education setting. Methods and materials. The study involved 47 primary school students, including 24 children with typical development, 12 students with severe speech disorders, and 11 children with developmental delay. The research program consists of tasks of various levels of complexity and methods of their implementation, compiled on the material of V.A. Oseeva's story “Blue Leaves”. We studied the formation of skills in understanding the socio-communicative situation: the feelings and emotions of the characters, the author's position, and the hidden meaning. Results. We have identified indicators of the dependence of the ability to interpret a socio-communicative situation on the state of speech and intellectual development of students. Given that the situation presented in the story is understandable and socially significant for younger students, we have noted a practical lack of transfer of the problem-solving method to other similar conditions by students with disabilities. Conclusions. The presented results complement the information about the process of developing social and communicative skills in younger students with disabilities, including those in inclusive education.
