Psychological Support of Foster Families: the Concept and Innovative Technologies

The author’s concept of psychological support of foster families is described in the article. It was developed basing on the results of several years of multidisciplinary multi-faceted empirical research of foster families establishment and development as well as practical work on psychological support of different actors of foster care system. It takes into account peculiarities and dynamics of development of a family system integrating a child with deprivational disorders in different social contexts. The main points of “ecological” and “continual” approaches to psychological support of foster families are outlined. Innovative technologies of support, developed for the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education Innovative Educational Program “Orphaned children” are displayed.
