On teaching of psychology in clerical educational institutions

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of teaching of psychology in clerical educational institutions. The history and the modern state of psychological and pedagogical education in clerical educational institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church are briefly described. Main directions of activity of Pedagogical cabinet of the Moscow Orthodox clerical academy in the area of spiritual and moral education and Orthodox pedagogics and psychology are defined. The article justifies the necessity of development of psychological and pedagogical education of future churchmen with a view of more efficient preparation to ministerial activity, as well as to psychological, pedagogical and social work, realization of a special educational mission of spiritual and moral upbringing of young people, of reconstruction of traditional ways of Russian family.
