Reproduction of teaching material by pu-pils with different levels of mnemonic abilities development

Abstract

The aim of research presented in the article is to study the laws of reproduction of teaching material by pupils with different levels of mnemonic abilities development. The research subject were the efficiency and quality distinctness of reproduction of teaching material of teaching material by pupils aged 13 with different levels of mnemonic abilities development. The research was done on the base of the sixth grades of regular schools in Orehovo-Zuevo town, Moscow region. The size of the sample was 32 pupils (16 girls, 16 boys). Study of the pupils’ mnemonic abilities was done using a mnemonic abilities diagnostics method, the basis of which is a method of mnemonic activity expansion developed by V.D.Shadrikov and L.V.Cheremoshkina. In order to study effectiveness and quality distinctiveness of reproduction of teaching material the authors used a developed procedure, the stimulus material of which was an extract from a biology textbook for the sixth grades of regular schools. This stage of research is based on the method of definition of conceptual units (words and phrases with maximum meaning). It is shown that the effectiveness and quality distinctiveness of both immediate and delayed reproduction of educational text are dependent on productivity of mnemonic abilities functional mechanisms (at the level of manifestative tendency), level of operational mechanisms realization (0,40 at the significance level of 0,05) and presence of regulating mechanisms (0,37; 0,39; 0,41 at the significance level of 0,05). The higher the effectiveness of mnemonic abilities and the level of their operational mechanisms, the higher the success rate of teaching material reproduction. Presence of regulating mechanisms in the structure of mnemonic abilities increases the effectiveness of both immediate and delayed reproduction of teaching material. The higher the level of mnemonic abilities development, the hight the injection percentage in the process of delayed reproduction, one week after memorizing (0,36 at the significance level of 0,03). Presence of mnemonic abilities regulating mechanisms leads to an increase of the number of injections in the process of reproduction one week after memorizing (at the level of manifestative tendency).
