Characteristics of space-time functions in case of alalia among pupils

Abstract

The article examines the peculiarities of understanding and reflection of space and time notions in oral speech of pupils aged 8-12 with expressive alalia. This category of children show an imperfection of lower levels of functional system reflecting space-time notions which manifests itself through unformedness of somatognosis, metric, coordinate, structural and topological notions as well as subjective perceptions of length of a time interval. It is was established that unformedness of the lowest levels of space and time notions of pupils with expressive alalia complicates the process of formation of their linguistic means expressing these relations and ability to operate them in oral speech.
