Rehabilitology as a self-sustaining transdisciplinary-based activity

2226

Abstract

There have been a range of social conditions that hinder development of rehabilitology as a professional branch in Russia. But there is the consensus that further hindrance of that process leads to grave social consequences. A rehabilitation specialist should receive professional education, master the new type of professional mentality and many applied skills. Such specialist should rely on fundamental knowledge that reflects the essence of rehabilitation processes, their mechanisms and peculiar traits. The notions of sanogenesis and its biosocial nature should become the core component of rehabilitation science. A rehabilitation specialist should learn to recognize positive symptoms that reveal activation of sanogenesis in the clinic. His practice should start from assessment of medical and social situation of a client and planning of rehabilitation process. The article provides an algorithm of such practical activity.
