Confidence in social world as a factor of legal consciousness in teenagers

Abstract

The article deals with processes of legal awareness formation in teens. A developed personal sense of legal awareness is defined as a necessary condition for the formation of civil society. We demonstrate the relationship between personal legal awareness and the phenomenon of trust, and show the significance of studying trust in adolescents. Based on the study results, we determine the role of trust in social world as one of the major factors influencing the formation of the legal awareness in adolescents. It is noted that the credibility of the loved ones (family and friends) influences the formation of the legal awareness in adolescents to a greater extent, but also there are elements of trust in state and social structures, which can be seen as a prerequisite to the formation of civic identity. We argue that lower level of social trust is a sign of personal legal awareness deformation and may indicate a tendency of deviant behavior in adolescents.
