Russian Adaptation and Validation of Tobacyk's Revised Paranormal Belief Scale

2900

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the Russian adaptation of Tobacyk's Revised Paranormal Belief Scale and to the analysis of its factor structure and psychometric performance. The Scale was translated into Russian by means of back translation, followed by five cognitive interviews conducted using the think-aloud method. A survey was carried out subsequently, the results of which were tested using confirmatory factor analysis and other tests of reliability and validity. According to the obtained results, the Scale can be considered a reliable and valid instrument for measuring the degree of belief in the paranormal.
