Yu.М. Zhukov event laboratory

Context and relevance. The article is based on the materials of the round table “Y.M. Zhukov as an event in social psychology: on the 80th anniversary of his birth”, held on June 20, 2025 at the Faculty of Psychology of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The relevance of the topic is determined by the growing interest of the professional community in experiental learning, which is shared by psychologists, educators, business coaches and managers. This interest also extends to practice-oriented research, which is based on the joint extraction and conceptualization of experience to solve practical problems “here and now”. The relevance of appealing to the legacy of Y.M. Zhukov lies in the fact that the scientist proposed a holistic concept of experience extraction, which focuses on a controlled socio-psychological event. However, Yuri Mikhailovich did not have time to complete the systematization of his ideas in the form of a unified theory and publish it.
Objective. The primary systematization of Y.M. Zhukov's key ideas about eventfulness, as well as the identification of prospects for the development of the professor's legacy based on the materials of the round table and the analysis of his work. For this purpose, the methods of experience extraction developed by Yu.M. Zhukov are used.
Results. The key elements of Zhukov's approach are reconstructed: an event as a result of a contradiction that “opens up” the picture of the world; experimental realism, involving subjects in joint research; training as an “event factory”. The technology of experience extraction through identification, qualification and interpretation is described. The integration of the methodology of action research with the concept of eventfulness is revealed, which makes it possible to create effective prescriptive models.
Conclusions. Zhukov's concept of eventfulness is a holistic scientific and practical approach that integrates theory and practice. His methodology remains relevant due to the combination of formulation and conceptual depth. Promising areas of heritage development are the study of the mechanisms of transformation of what happened into a social event and the analysis of the structure of event communication.
