Foreword by the Subject Editor
Abstract
A current trend in scientific research, including socio-psychological research, is the study of ethnocultural diversity and intercultural interaction. This special issue, dedicated to this topic, includes papers reflecting current issues and research trends in ethnic and cross-cultural psychology. The results of these studies expand our understanding of such socio-psychological phenomena as individual/group adaptation to a new ethno- and socio-cultural environment, ethnic identity, perceptions of another country and culture, and intercultural competence. The identified patterns can serve as a scientific basis for developing government programs in the areas of migration, nationality, interstate, and educational policies.
