The editorial board of the journal “Psychological-Educational Studies” is preparing to release the thematic issue titled “Hospital pedagogy: the well-being of children undergoing long-term treatment” in September 2026 (No. 3–2026). The thematic editors of the issue are Vitaliy V. Rubtsov, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Education, Professor of the UNESCO Department in Cultural-Historical Psychology of Childhood, President of Moscow State University of Psychology and Education; and Sergey V. Sharikov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the Russian Hospital Schools Project "UchimZnaem", Honorary Worker of General Education of the Russian Federation, Professor at the Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Immunology of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

The issue will feature theoretical and empirical research reflecting the value of education that takes into account the individual health characteristics and emotional state of children with chronic somatic illnesses; studies on aspects of the development of learning motivation, higher mental functions, and psychological well-being through the active involvement of young patients in the educational and upbringing process (in line with the cultural-historical framework); practical cases and the experience of hospital pedagogues who adapt forms and methods of work to create conditions for maximum self-actualization and fulfillment of children undergoing long-term treatment.
