Interactive Videos as a Tool of Oral Speech Skills Formation in the Process of Teaching Foreign Languages
Abstract
Explanatory and instructional films have recently been intensively developed and disseminated, including in the educational process. Their use is increasing in educational institutions. This paper deals with the use of interactive videos from a linguodidactic perspective. The expediency of using interactive videos in higher education institutions is described, platforms of interactive videos and related services that can be used in the process of teaching foreign languages are presented, technical conditions of using interactive videos in classes, as well as the methodology of working with them are considered. This tool contributes to the formation of oral skills in a foreign language, as well as individualization of learning, it can be used to increase the speaking time of learners. The availability and widespread use of mobile devices and digital tools make it easy for teachers and learners to create and share training videos themselves online. The article shows the possibilities of creating and using interactive videos in the process of teaching foreign languages without deep technical knowledge of both teachers and learners.
