Abstract

Digital technologies are developing rapidly and are being actively implemented in various industries, including the education system. Recently, much attention has been paid to artificial intelligence and its application in human life and the functioning of organizations. Publishing activity in the field of artificial intelligence is growing. The topic of using artificial intelligence is relatively new for the education system, but it is quite promising. It can be noted that among representatives of higher education there are at least three points of view about the place of artificial intelligence technologies in education: negative, neutral, positive. The arguments "for and against" are an analysis of opportunities, prospects, benefits, advantages for both students and teachers, as well as threats, risks and negative consequences of the use of artificial intelligence technologies within the walls of universities and schools. The article presents data from a survey of students and teachers in relation to artificial intelligence technologies. The main advantages of using artificial intelligence technologies by participants in the educational process are the speed of obtaining and processing a large amount of information, exemption from routine operations. Among the negative aspects are security issues, the dubiousness of the generated data, and the development of intellectual laziness. Some areas of application of artificial intelligence in the education system are shown.
