Abstract

Context and relevance. The article is devoted to the problem of an individual's subjective psychological well-being, which is increasingly becoming the subject of psychological research and a concern for educational psychologists in the context of raising children and school students. Objective. An attempt was made to reveal the meaning of the phenomenon of “subjective well-being of the individual” from the perspective of strengthening the psychological health of a developing person, which is determined by a person's mental and moral development and defines their positive interaction with people and the world. Methods and materials. The article uses a theoretical method of analysis and synthesis of scientific literature on issues of strengthening mental and psychological health, as well as developing an individual's psychological culture. Results. It is argued that the main condition for the “emergence” of the feeling of subjective well-being and its direction lies in the interaction of the phenomena of “culture” and “education” and in the deep mutual enrichment of the processes of learning and upbringing based on the integration of rational and emotional understanding of the world by a growing person at each stage of ontogenesis. Conclusions. Subjective well-being can be understood not only as a component but also as an indicator of an individual's psychological health, provided that the person's psychological well-being is experienced with a moral orientation.
