Cultural-Historical Psychology: Current Situation and Perspectives (Report on the International Conference)

Abstract

This article is a report on the International Conference 'Cultural-Historical Psychology: Current Situation and Perspectives' that took place in Moscow, Russia, on October 3—4, 2006. Members of the Executive Committee of the International Society for Cultural and Activity Research (ISCAR) were special guests at the conference. Most of the presentations described results of recent researches made by participants. Among the important issues discussed at the conference were: psychology of action, psychology of art, perspectives of cross-cultural psychology, causes and signs of the crisis in contemporary psychology and ways of coping with it, and education problems. The issues concerning Russian ISCAR section and further cooperation between ISCAR members from different countries were discussed as well.
