Self-Consciousness and Personality Development as a «Special Temporal Moment»

The problem of time's place and role in the ontogenesis and personality development lacks thorough elaboration and is fragmented. Thus we see the need to analyze this problem by accentuating a structural component in development of which temporal perspective becomes a strategic factor. The article presents an analysis of representations on nature of self-consciousness and its structural components origins and development in the temporal dimension. It is hypothesized that selfconsciousness on different stages of ontogenesis manifests as self-cognition, self-attitude, self-esteem and self-regulation. Results indicate that self-consciousness emerges later than consciousness ontogenetically and includes a temporal determination «sense of self in the time of life».
