Psychosemantic Approach to the Study of Family and Maternity Orientations in Young Girls aged 15—17

The paper focuses on the possibilities of employing psychosemantic approach in studies of social psycho- logical orientation of consciousness as a key factor of social psychological community. It analyzes main con- cepts of the psychosemantic approach to the study of consciousness and presents outcomes of empirical research on social psychological orientations, namely family orientation, in young women aged 15—22. The fol- lowing issues were investigated: the correlation between family sphere concepts and temporal semantic indi- cators, and their age-related changes; psychosemantic features of family orientation of consciousness and their dynamics based on the subjects' personality traits, age and upbringing conditions; predominance of such concepts as "My future family" or "My future child" depending on the individual qualities and upbringing condi- tions of the subjects. The paper describes two psychological types in young girls aged 15—17 ("Orientation towards the reproduction of social psychological community: creating a family of one's own" and "Orientation towards self-fulfillment through motherhood: giving birth to a child") depending on their personality traits and upbringing conditions and basing on the dominating family concept and psychosemantic features of fami- ly sphere concepts.
