Features and Problems of Personalistic Counseling

The paper focuses on personalistic features of social humanistic counseling. From the very start traumatic experiences of an individual are considered — in their nature and psychological structure - not as purely psy- chophysiological, but rather as personally relevant ethical ones. The physiological aspect of a problem gives way to the ethical aspect, for the victim of a trauma is faced with the same ethical issues as everyone else, but traumatic experiences make it harder for him/her to resolve them. Thus the key task of personalistic counsel- ing would be the rehabilitation of the victim as a personality creatively involved in solving topical social prob- lems. This task can be fulfilled not only by means of helping the victim to cope with his/her individual prob- lems, but also by placing social responsibility for risks of moral value destruction upon the counselor.
