Psychological Support for the Patient with Pulmonary Tuberculosis: A Case Report

994

Abstract

Actuality: Currently the development and use of different psychotherapeutic technologies are particularly relevant in the anti-tuberculosis institutions. We analyze the case of a patient with pulmonary tuberculosis who was getting psychological support during his inpatient treatment with the use of the method of pathogenetic analysis based on the neurosis concept by V.N. Myasishchev. Main results: resolving inner conflicts and learning adaptive reactive and behavioral models improves the patient’s psychological status and the efficacy of treatment. Conclusions: personality-oriented level of psychological impact is necessary in the treatment of lung tuberculosis patients, especially in cases of the unfavorable course of illness. Psychoeducation programs contribute to the emergence of the patient’s motivation for personal psychotherapy and facilitate its process.
