Psychological evaluation of the quality of life of patients with schizophrenia

The research of dynamics of the quality of life of patients with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders during medical and group psychotherapy is one of the important parameters of efficiency of treatment and a sign of rehabilitation potential. Acquiring the social, household and subjective - psychological parameters of the quality of life and securing their objectivity is related to certain difficulties. This contribution is dedicated to the evaluation of possibility of application of experimental-psychological techniques for an evaluation of the quality of life of patients with schizophrenia, definition of their comparability, consideration of advantages and disadvantages of various methods, as well as evaluation of the influence of psychotherapy on the changing of parameters of the quality of life of the patients. As a result of the research it is revealed that experimental - psychological research allows to verify the positive dynamics of such indirect parameters of quality of life as self-evaluation, level of claims, socialization, criticism and emotional maturity. Such personal factors, as a self-estimation, emotional maturity, criticism and level socialization are sensitive to psychotherapeutical influence. The level of psychological protection in anxiety-depressive disorders was significantly reduced. The comprehension of one’s own role in the development and course of the disease, changes of the internal picture of disease are noted.
