Abstract

Context and relevance. For the prompt and quick solution of difficulties that arise in a person in a crisis state, it is important to consider the context of crisis intervention as a method of short-term psychological assistance. Objective: to conduct a theoretical analysis of the subjective context of a crisis situation, a crisis state, their concept, existing models and stages of crisis intervention in the work of a psychologist. Hypothesis. Crisis intervention is a well-organized, structured and short-term process of psychological assistance that can be carried out by trained specialists. Results. 1. Crisis experience is a subjective, sometimes time-limited, reaction of a person to a life situation, when normal ways of coping with its external factors (world, place, territory, etc.) are suddenly interrupted, characterized by: meaninglessness, tension, signs of anxiety, psychological imbalance, and long-term inability of the psyche to function adaptively. 2. Crisis intervention is an intensive, short-term, purposeful psychological assistance to satisfy the actual need of a person and return him to the adaptive level of functioning in the process of experiencing a subjectively significant situation of life. To prevent clients from re-experiencing a crisis, psychologists should approach the assessment, intervention, and stabilization of a crisis situation based on their individual experiences. 3. In order to prevent clients from re-experiencing the crisis state, psychologists should approach the assessment, intervention and stabilization in a crisis situation, taking into account their individual experiences, religion, culture, beliefs and values. 4. Crisis intervention is a fairly effective model of psychological assistance, which actualizes the conduct of randomized controlled studies of its effectiveness in Russia. Conclusions. The highlighted concept of crisis intervention, models, their content and effectiveness can improve the training of specialists in crisis intervention.
