Typology of mental representations of professional tasks of nuclear energy specialists

The article presents the results of a study of the conceptual model of professional activity of specialists of nuclear energy. We present a modified version of the methodology of repertory grids, justify the choice of closed structure repertory grids, including the list of the basic professional tasks and criteria for the evaluation of their significance, dictated by experts. We received a description of a typical model of professional activities, including the planning, operational and emergency tasks and detected the influence of the degree of experience of specialists on the structure of the conceptual model and the subjective perception of primarily operational objectives. In the course of our research we distinguished three types of a conceptual professional model. The difference between various types of conceptual models lies in the grouping of the main semantic elements (professional tasks) in meaningful units, as well as in the degree of consistency, structuralization of the image of the professional activity, reflecting the degree of «linking» of all items (tasks) of activity, and in the number of links between the elements and the closeness of these links. We described the differences of cognitive maps depending on the degree of proficiency of specialists and their personal features. Cognitive map of the most experienced specialist varies by the differentiation, the hierarchy of groups of professional tasks, while the image of the profession of the beginner still remain rather amorphous, all the elements are interconnected with each other in equal measures.
