Early assistance to a woman giving birth to a child with a disease, taking into account factors affecting her mental health (a review of international research in clinical and social discourse)

Context and relevance. The mental health of women and children at all stages of the perinatal period remains a global public health problem, mediating the search for bio-psycho-social determinants to reduce risk factors and implement effective early intervention programs. Objective. The study consists of an analytical review of empirical data reflecting current problems of organizing early medical, social and psychological assistance to a woman at the birth of a child with a disease. Methods and materials. Analytical review of scientific literature for the period 2015—2025. Results. Empirical data included in the systemic review revealed the feasibility of ranking medical and social risk factors for the development of anxiety-depressive states in pregnant and postpartum women, and conducting multi-level and staged screening to avoid issues of under- and overdiagnosis. Conclusions. To optimize and improve the effectiveness of early intervention programs for women who give birth to a child with a disease, scientists place different emphasis on awareness of the etiology and clinical manifestations of the child's disease and satisfaction with medical care. However, despite the diversity of approaches and techniques, the emphasis is on individualized programs, taking into account the psychosomatic status and significant socio-demographic characteristics.
