Lexical and grammatical features of the Military Regulations of Russian Federation
Abstract
Context and relevance. The level of Russian language proficiency is of great importance in the training of foreign specialists at universities in the Russian Federation, as it is not only a means of communication in a new sociocultural environment, but also a means of acquiring knowledge in the chosen field of study. The professional orientation of teaching Russian to foreign students is realized through the study of the language of the specialty. The training of foreign cadets at the preparatory course in Russian military universities includes not only general education subjects, but also general military training, which includes drill training and the study of the basic provisions of military regulations. Objective. To identify the the lexical and grammatical features of the Russian Federation Military Regulations for training foreign military specialists. Hypothesis. The study of the Russian Federation Military Regulations as an instructional text and its lexical and grammatical features in Russian language classes contributes to the formation of the communicative competence of foreign military specialists in the academic and educational-professional sphere of communication. Methods and materials. The following methods were used in the study: theoretical analysis of literature on the research topic; observation of the educational activities of foreign cadets and Russian language teachers; study and generalization of the pedagogical experience of pre-university training for foreign students; analysis of regulatory documents on the training of foreign cadets and educational materials for the pre-university training stage; systematization and generalization. Results. The results showed that studying the lexical and grammatical features of the instruction text and the Military Regulations in Russian language classes at the pre-university stage will make it easier for foreign cadets to adapt to the new educational and professional sphere of communication, will contribute to the success of their cognitive and professional activities, and will also implement interdisciplinary connections in a military university. Conclusions. The creation of a special textbook on the Military Regulations for foreign students by a team of Russian language teachers and military specialists can greatly help in the training of future officers.
