Abstract

The author analyzes two areas of development of concepts in a child. One of them is the generalization of empirical units of material and the identification of a common as some general meaning and designation of the variety in question. Another direction is the isolation of a genetically original, universal attitude and the derivation from it of a variety of properties and specific features of the material. The author considers it extremely important in the context of these approaches to discuss the regularities of the child's education and the need for a figurative and semantic basis for the development of concepts in childhood.
