Mother's Notions About Child and Their Relation to Parent-Child Emotional Interaction

874

Abstract

The article focuses on parent-child emotional interaction and on mother's notions about her child as a factor that affects maternal emotional attitude towards the child. On the first phase of the research the subjects were pregnant women, on the second – 'motherchild' pairs (these pairs included schoolaged children as well as adolescents). The purpose of the study was to analyse mothers' notions about their children (or pregnant women's expectations of their future children), the adequacy of these notions, and the role they play in motherchild interaction.
