Abstract

The paper presents results of a research on transitions that men and women experience in midlife (40–45 years). The research focused on age-related changes in gender identity and its specifics in men and women. The study was carried out on 90 male and 226 female subjects. The research findings indicate that during midlife one's attitude towards parents, work etc changes. Both men and women experience their gender identity in a more concrete, conscious manner; however, the research revealed certain differences in experiencing gender identity in male and female subjects.
