An approach to testing intellectual abilities and eliminating artifacts

Abstract

We present a new approach to the description of the testing process of intellectual abilities using factor models with simplex structure, taking into account the results and dynamics of completing a test. Its feature is the application of Kohonen self-organizing maps for the probabilistic assessment of subject’s being on a certain level of intelligence. Elimination of artifacts caused by various forms of environmental influence is performed by comparing the observed and the expected results of the answers to the test questions using a digital multi- dimensional Kalman filter adapted to solve the problem.
