Psychological resources of the personality and socio-psychological adaptation in the professional education of students with limited health capacities

Abstract

We discuss the results of studies on the relationship of personal and social resources and socio-psychological adaptation of students with limited health capacities. As psychological resources of the personality, we consider subjective vitality, viability, meaningfulness of life, tolerance to uncertainty, self-efficacy, strategies of coping with life difficulties, and social resources – network size, satisfaction with social support. We analyze the specifics of the socio-psychological adaptation and resources of personality of college students depending on the presence / absence of restrictions on health and the degree of adaptation mechanisms tension, as well as the specific effects of social desirability on students' responses, depending on the presence / absence of disability. We display the productivity of synthesis of medical and rehabilitation, social and positive models of disability in relation to research problems and psycho-pedagogical support of inclusive practice in the professional education.
