The Role of Motivational and Meaning Component of Education in the Formation of Competence of Masters Psychologists

Abstract

We present the results of the study of motivational and meaning component of higher education in Masters in psychology, conducted as part of the system and competence approaches. It was attended by 40 graduates of the Department of psychological assistance of A.I. Gertsen Russian State Pedagogical University (St. Petersburg) who have received training under the master's programs in the period from 2006 to 2011. It is shown that the content of motivational-meaning component of the Master psychologists is presented by five basic meanings, af¬fecting not only the formation, but also the particular implementation of compe¬tence, which can be represented in an explicit or implicit form. This allowed the authors to construct an empirical model of the formation and implementation of professional competence, based on the meaning, as well as describe the role of motivational and meaningful component of education based on system approach.
