Psychological Rationale for Providing Comfort for Junior Students in Educational Activity

Abstract

Overview of the special literature on the positive psycho-physiological states is presented to justify the need to ensure the comfort of students. The article demonstrates that the states of comfort, happiness, experience of joy and interest preserve psycho-physiological health of schoolchildren. These states also are the sources of creativity, desire to cooperate, enhancement of interpersonal relationships in the school environment, and desire to continue education in these conditions. The author supports creation of the intraschool environment and organization of actors’ interaction in it ensuring the comfort of students. The author also concludes that the comfort is an essential condition, an optimal mean and an opportunity for the fully-featured educational activities of junior schoolchildren. The state and sense of comfort in the environment inside the school contributes to the preservation of psycho-physiological health of children and also is the source of creativity, joy and etc. The states contrary to comfort are described: discomfort, alienation, dissonance and disharmony.
