Spirituality as a meta-system attribute of the self-organization of the man’s inner world

Abstract

The aim of the article is to explore the possibility of spirituality assessment in the course of a psychological research. The article presents a retrospective analysis of the state of the problem of spirituality in religious literature, philosophical, pedagogical and psychological sciences. Main notions which are methodologically related to the notion of “spirituality” are analyzed: “inner world”, “activity”, “delicacy”, “understanding”, “vision”, “meta-systemization”. It is shown that “spirituality” may be unfolded not only as a notion of general culture, but also as a notion of general science, which in psychology reflects the system organization and the self-organization of the man’s inner world. At that “spirituality” as a psychological notion as follows from its content does not duplicate or replace such notions of general psychology as “rectitude”, “morality”, “ethic norms”. The authors come to conclusion that spirituality needs its own content to be defined, which can be elaborated as a complex of system and meta-system characteristics of the psyche and the relations forming the value and notional space of the man’s inner world.
