Abstract

We consider the developmental value of the play and the reasons for its reduction in preschool education. It is emphasized that the play as a separate activity is now replaced by the gaming training aids. We present a comparative analysis of the play as an activity and as a form of training. The advantages of playing as activity include self-reliance, emotional involvement and spontaneity of the child's actions. We consider the conditions of formation and development of playing activities in preschool education: the openness of the educational program, adequate object-spatial environment and the play competence of the teacher. We provide comments to the “Declaration on the Rights of the Child”, related to the right to play.
