Social Psychological Features of Conspicuous Consumption in Modern Adolescents

3614

Abstract

The paper presents the results of an empirical study on the social psychological characteristics of adolescents with different levels of conspicuous consumption attitudes. The study shows that conspicuous consumption can be revealed in every adolescent irrespective of the socioeconomic status of his/her parents, but its content varies from one individual to another. The outcomes of the study suggest that adolescents with average attitudes towards conspicuous consumption are more likely to have positive social psychological resources.
