Perception of the Teacher’s Oral Speech by Students in Distance Learning

65

Abstract

The article presents the perception of oral speech of teachers in the course of communication with students in the framework of distance learning. Most of the students surveyed study in specialties related to communication with people (pedagogy, general medicine, pediatrics, psychology, etc.). The results of the study indicate that distance learning is comfortable for students with the preferred full-time education. However, in distance learning, the characteristics of the teachers’ oral speech come to the fore. Regardless of the specialty received for students, structuredness and consistency in the presentation of the material are important, as well as the culture of speech and the correctness of the construction of phrases. Getting a future profession determines the diversity of students’ perception of the characteristics of oral speech by teachers. Pedagogical students and medical students focus their attention on structuredness and consistency in the presentation of the material, psychology students on the correctness of the phrase construction and the emotional coloring of statements.
