Abstract

The aim of the study was to investigate the attitude of educational process participants (teachers and students) to various aspects of the digital educational environment and their preferences in forms and types of education (using the example of universities in the Republic of Belarus). Students and teachers of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus took part in the online study: 523 students (90% female) and 265 teachers (76% female). To determine the attitude towards the digital educational environment (DEE) of the university, AUDEE Scale and an additional questionnaire were used. The results show that Belarusian teachers and students are well aware of the basic DEE elements and often use them. At the same time, students are more positive about learning using DEE and distance learning: students are much more satisfied than teachers with communication in an electronic educational environment, and teachers are much more worried than students about the possibility and frequency of using dishonest strategies in online learning. Most of both students and teachers would like to move to a blended learning model; at the same time, a much larger number of students than teachers are ready to switch to a completely distance learning format.
