В обзоре рассматриваются связи показателей интеллекта популяции с рядом социально-экономических, демографических и других показателей (среднедушевым доходом, ожидаемой продолжительностью жизни и др.). Эти связи рассматриваются на различных уровнях, по уровню популяции: на уровне стран, на уровне регионов внутри страны и т. д. Большинство рассмотренных показателей характеризуются средними и высокими корреляциями с интеллектом популяции. В некоторых случаях имеются данные, указывающие на причинный характер этих связей.
