Abstract

Context and relevance. Social attitudes are significant regulators of people's vaccination behavior. Their substantive, structural and functional properties can vary significantly depending on the level of medical literacy of the subject, which is why a comparative analysis of the attitudinal regulation of vaccination behavior of non-specialists and medical specialists (medical students and health workers) is of scientific and practical interest. Objective. Theoretical and methodological substantiation of the assessment of the attitudinal regulation of vaccination behavior of health workers and students in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hypothesis. The 7C-model is a modern and valid basis for creating methods for assessing attitudes towards vaccination behavior of students of medical educational institutions and health workers. Methods and materials. The geography of databases for the theoretical substantiation of the work included the following aggregators: PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley online library, Cochrane Library, NEL "elibrary.ru", NEL "Cyberleninka". Only publications for the period from 2020 to 2025 were selected for analysis. Search strategies were adapted for different databases. The search was conducted by keywords (article title, keywords, abstract): attitude regulation - "behavioral regulation", "vaccination behavior", "vaccine uptake", "vaccination intention"; healthcare workers - "healthcare workers", "medical professionals"; students - "students", "medical students"; COVID-19 - "COVID-19", "SARS-CoV-2"; 7C model. The results included 19,964 sources from PubMed, 164 from the ScienceDirect database, 70 publications from Wiley online Library, 7 from the Cochrany Library, and 62 sources published in eLibrary for article-by-article analysis. Among the sources listed, there were duplicates that were subject to exclusion. At the next stage of the work, each publication was assessed in terms of the presence of all keywords in the study description and conclusions. Only four sources fully satisfied the query + 7C model, of which 2 were in the English-language search segment. Results. It was established that the modern concept of the attitudinal regulation of vaccination behavior is the 7C model, which includes the following attitudes: confidence, complacent, convenient, calculating, collective responsibility, compliance, and conspiracy. Conclusions. The 7C model is relevant for assessing attitudes towards vaccination behavior of medical students and health workers. The results of the empirical study will be presented in the second part of the article.
