Woman After the Premature Birth of the Child Emotional Distress

Abstract

The aim is to study the features of the emotional experiences of women in the first days after premature birth (26 to 34 weeks of gestation). Here are presented the results of analysis of state, experiences and fears self-descriptions of women immediately postpartum. Author analyze the prevailing emotion, expression, social factors affecting the severity experienced by states and coping strategies with these emotions. Significant triad of reactive states, including the feelings of worthlessness and guilt; acute fear for the lives and health of the child, a sense of helplessness been found. Also author highlighted the dynamics of these emotional reactions in the first days after birth. Factors of the social environment that affect the intensity of the manifestations of negative emotions, including the behavior of medical staff and immediate family been described. Article outlines key strategies of mother in order to reduce the adverse conditions, such as an exit strategy, information retrieval and cognitive activity; help to surrounding people. The analysis of the effectiveness of the identified strategies also been held.
