Abstract

Context and relevance. The functioning of one-member compound verb definitely-personal sentences in the compositional-speech structures of an art text is of particular interest. Objective. The purpose of the article is to identify of the relationship between an art text and the form and semantics of its one-member compound verb definitely-personal sentences. Hypothesis. The choice of an one-member compound verb definitely-personal sentence is related to the specific tasks of the author of the text. Methods and materials. The speech material is extracted from the texts of short stories and novellas by various writers using a continuous targeted sampling method. In the process of structural and semantic analysis of the compositional and speech structures of an art text, the specifics of the use of definitely-personal sentences have been studied. It is determined why the choice of the grammatical form of the main member of an one-member compound definitely-personal sentences depends. When analyzing fragments, attention is drawn to what external and internal connections exist in the sentence and in the compositional and speech structures of the art text. Results. It is revealed that the author uses a variety of verb forms of the main member of definitely-personal sentences. Their use is subordinated to the author's intention. Conclusions. It is shown that the study and systematization of knowledge about definitely-personal sentences used in the compositional-speech structures of an art text complements information about one-member compound sentences. The principles of sentence analysis used can be applied when studying an art text in order to identify the author's intention.
