A research on motivational development in today's preschool children aged 5, 6 and 7 years

Abstract

The article describes a research on motivational development in older preschool children. It reveals the differences in the hierarchical structure of motivational sphere of children age 5, 6 and 7 years basing on the dominance of one of the explored motives (play motive, broad cognitive motive, and cognitivelearning motive). The author shows that the "inner schoolchild position" is weak in today's preschoolers aged 6–7 years.
