Abstract

The article examines personal characteristics and specifics of gender-role identity of minors who have committed violent and lucrative crimes in comparison with minors with normative behavior. 40 convicts serving sentences in a juvenile correctional facility and 20 pupils of Moscow general education schools took part in the research. It was assumed that there are specifics of gender-role identity and gender-role stereotypes of young males who have committed crimes as opposed to their prosocial peers, that there is an interrelation between aggressiveness and perceptions of masculinity stereotype, and among young males with normative behavior gender-role identity and personal qualities are formed in conjunction with each other and represent a single interrelated system. As a result of the research specifics of interrelation between gender-role identity and personal qualities of minors with criminal behavior which distinguish them from the normative group were identified.
