The Perspectives of Preschool Education

This article reflects on the initiation of compulsory preschool education and discusses various aspects of its organizational perspectives. The author suggests that 5 year old children are not yet psychologically ready for a systematic training. The study results on cognitive interest within the developing ability to learn are given as an illustration to this notion. The findings of the diagnostic survey clearly show the following features of the abovementioned psychological formation. The motivational, operational-technical and reflexive-regulatory spheres of the psyche of a 5 years old child are not yet fully formed. This clearly indicates a high probability of difficulties occurrence when applying school-type training, it could even reverse the efforts of educators. However, the idea of preschool education is not rejected, but it is proposed to carefully consider the entire process of introducing innovations into practice.
