Typological particularities of work motivation of nurses

The article is devoted to research of work motivation of nurses. It states the relevance of the topic which is related to the national aim of development of health care system in Russia. It points out the lack of research in the field of work motivation of medical staff. It presents the results of research of work motivation of nurses and identifies the typological peculiarities of these structures. In accordance with specific features of work motivation four groups of nurses are identified. Characteristics of each type of motivation are given. It is shown that an important vector in formation of a specific type of motivation is the focus on achieving spiritual satisfaction or pragmatic interests in material or social fields. Another vector which influences the motivational field of medical specialists is the focus on vigorous activity or on keeping one’s position and pursuit of security. The article points out the domination of altruistic motives and poor intensity of leadership in the sample group on the whole, which is explained by the specifics of the profession’s content and the state of organization of nursing care in modern conditions.
