Psychological peculiarities of professional activity of inspectors of road patrol service of the State inspection of traffic security

Abstract

The aim of the research carried out by the author was to describe the psychological nature of professional activity of inspectors of road patrol service of the State inspection of traffic security (SITS). The object of the research was the psychological content the professional activity of SITS inspectors and their personal qualities as subjects of professional activity. The hypothesis was that the analysis of psychological peculiarities of the professional activity of SITS inspectors will allow to form the familiarity with the content of this activity and its demands to the personality of the specialist, to give ground to the importance of development of professional psychological training of the inspectors. 98 SITS inspectors participated in the research. The following methods were used: supervision, interview, questionnaire. As a result of the research it was found out that the professional activity of the inspectors falls into the category of psychologically rich, complicated and challenging kinds of activity which place increased demands to the personal qualities and have their specifics; the priority direction of professional psychological training should be considered the improvement of communicative competence of the inspectors and their psychological readiness to take measures of personal professional security.
