The contribution explains the relevance of the problem of forming the psychological literacy of senior school pupils. Basing on his own practical experience of teaching “Psychology” in school, the author views the psychological literacy as a condition of socialization of senior school pupils. The contribution presents an analysis of peculiarities of the process of socialization in the senior school age, formulates the main principles of teaching “Psychology” in senior grades, presents the results of an empirical research of influence of psychological literacy on the process of socialization of senior school pupils, which identified the psychodiagnostic indices of socialized personality of a senior school pupil, justifies the choice of psychodiagnostic instruments for evaluation of these indices, describes the dynamics of development of indices of socialized personality of a senior school pupil among the testees. It was proved that the psychological literacy is one of conditions of socialization of senior school pupils
