Monitoring and evaluation of professional knowledge and skills of future teachers

Abstract

We reveal the significance of monitoring and evaluation, and discuss the evaluation criteria of students’ professional knowledge and skills assessment based on State Educational Standard, and competencies based on Federal State Educational Standard of higher education. We shows a mark schedule of students in seminars on “Forms of sports and recreation activities in the day regimen” on a subject “Theory and technology of pre-school education”. We reveal the essence and meaning of the competence-based approach, the concept of “competence”, their integral nature. We provide an example of competency mapping based on a practice session plan on the theme “Play in preschool educational process” on the subject “”Theory and a methods of nurture and education in early childhood education”, propose a scheme of abstract analysis of the game for preschoolers. We show the characteristics of pedagogical reflection, reflexivity, reflexive rethinking stages, compare marks and evaluation, reveal the importance and essence of the performance rating. We characterize such control techniques as oral questioning, written questioning. We show the importance of the test control, provide an example of tests on “Features of verbal communication” within the “Communication Skills” course.
