Socio-psycological and pathopsychological factors of risk of reoffending among mentally ill with negative personality disorders

Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of socio-psychological and psycho-pathological risk factors of reoffending among mentally ill with negative personality disorders. 94 male patient with severe mental disorders aimed at compulsory treatment in specialized hospitals of varying degrees of security were examined using the complex of diagnostic instruments. It included standardized battery of psychopathological tests, questionnaire Styles of self-regulation of behavior (Morosanova V. I., 1988), Self-control questionnaire (Grasik G., 1993), projective method for the study of social apperception (Belyakov M. Y., Bulygina V.G., 2011). There were identified characteristics of regulatory processes specific for different nosology in the examined group of patients, the variables that significantly distinguish individuals with different degree of social dangerousness, and variables that distinguish patients, which were reoffended during the first year after the discharge. Violations of the self-regulation as a holistic process, the deficiency of its individual links, low profile of the self-control and social apperception should be considered not only as psychological factors risk of criminal recidivism among mentally ill with negative personality disorders, but as targets of correctional interventions during the compulsory treatment.
